Useful info
One of the last steps to be taken on any product before it ends up at the point of sale of destination is labeling, which is taken care of by companies active in the packaging industry.
This operation, compulsory for food products, is now necessary for the marketing of a huge number of different items; in this guide we will try to understand what are the requirements and directions to follow in order to make a good label.
A well-made label must first of all point out to the consumer properties and characteristics of the product in question, in an objective and unbiased way.
Therefore, the name and origin of the product should be clearly indicated, accompanied by an identification code. For foodstuffs, it will then be necessary to indicate the list of ingredients, the expiration date and storage methods, along with any additional information (think, for example, of allergen indications).
Clarity of display will therefore be key: this means that no data should be omitted, although it is possible, and indeed appropriate and necessary, to point out the strengths of what you wish to sell.
In this regard, clear and highly legible fonts should be used on each label, perhaps emphasizing the data and information most likely to strike the consumer's attention.
For example, the information on the label could find immediate positive feedback in the illustrations on the packaging, which in turn are designed to prompt the customer to buy the product.
