The impact of packaging on cosmetic products

What role does packaging play in a cosmetic product? What functions does it perform?

There are many questions that revolve around the cosmetics sector: we tried to answer the main ones during the webinar we held on March 4th together with Anna Caldiroli, regulatory technician and scientific director of Cosmetic Technology (CEC Editore).

What is the Webinar about?

Returning to the initial question we asked ourselves, it is good to say that packaging contains multiple functions that, over time, have changed. This is because the needs of the final consumer have changed and the same discussion falls directly, or not, on all the protagonists of the chain.

However, not all functions have undergone changes.

Even today, in fact, packaging represents a means to guarantee the delivery of a product that has remained safe and compliant with quality standards .

In the cosmetics sector, packaging represents an essential element for the marketing of the product, but at the same time a complex system that must be evaluated in order to exclude any effects that could compromise the safety of the cosmetic product, given the direct contact of some components with its formulation.
