antibacterial packaging with silver ions

The Alkam world presents the possibility of making your packaging antibacterial , thanks to a special active film (which is not visible and does not affect the beauty of the packaging) that releases silver ions.

How it works

When printing labels we can apply an antibacterial film that releases silver particles for 5 years killing 99% of bacteria (according to ISO 22196 standard and certified by Industrial Microbiological Services Ltd).

Where to use it

It is very useful for packaging (and other applications) that are displayed in public places and have a significant average life.

It is particularly suitable for those who supply materials to hospital facilities , nursing homes, analysis centres, medical practices, laboratories, clinics (including veterinary clinics), but not only .

It can be a winning marketing tool also in the cosmetics/pharma sector to increase the perception of product safety , as well as in the food sector to increase the sense of hygiene towards the consumer (e.g. food labels, fresh labels, etc.).

The film does not have antiviral properties , but it still contributes to the general hygiene required in this difficult period.

The use of antibacterial paints

In general, it should be noted that the use of solvent-based paints and/or the passage of plastic films under UV lamps and high-intensity corona treatments generally have an antibacterial effect.

Please note that to have a final product with a scientifically approved result, a final test must be performed at specialized laboratories.

Some of these solutions are based on the principle that silver and any of its compounds have an effect that is toxic to bacteria in general, more precisely this process consists in the release of silver ions that allows irreversible damage to the bacterial structure.
