Esselunga Goes Green: The Turning Point of Sustainable Packaging

Never before has the motivation to create a sustainable future for the Earth, our future generations and ourselves been as strong as it is now.

We all have the opportunity to be part of the solution. Many companies are working harder, smarter and more respectful of the environment around us.

Using less energy, water and other resources is not only good for the environment, it also has positive results on the bottom line.

The future market leaders are those who introduce new and environmentally friendly solutions around them.

It is well known that the Italian company Esselunga allows its customers to return used plastic trays to its stores.

But this time we have better news, or rather let's not call it news, let's call it a turning point!

By 2025, the packaging of products branded “Esselunga” will be 100% recycled, recyclable or compostable , in order to reduce the environmental impact through sustainable packaging.

And a question immediately arises: What is the role of the Green Pack?

It is the best way to identify products derived from more environmentally sustainable systems , and this is done through the use of eco-labels or, more generally, environmental labels.

Eco-Friendly Labels on food serve to demonstrate that a company has taken environmental issues particularly to heart.

At the same time, using Green Packaging indirectly increases the value of the product itself.

We know, in fact, that consumers are increasingly aware of what they buy in supermarkets, and are increasingly aware of the packaging of the products they add to their shopping carts and the impact these have on the environment.

Consumers are more powerful today than ever before.

The demands for more sustainable production systems have managed to seriously disrupt industrial and economic circles.

Alkam's Green Packaging

We work every day to ensure that environmental sustainability is part of our work process and we strongly believe that it is not only a responsibility, but an added value.

All aspects of our business are monitored for resource use and waste, with an eye always on progress and continuous improvement.

We have therefore decided to give a Green imprint to our company reality, by inserting Labels in Recycled Material and Recyclable Material Labels , allowing companies to gain a competitive advantage over their competitors.
